1st Local food for the month - Apples, Beetroot, Brussels Sprouts, Cabbage, Carrots, Celeriac, Chicory, Jerusalem Artichokes, Kale, Leeks, Mushrooms, Onions, Parsnips, Pears, Purple Sprouting Broccoli, Spring Greens, Spring Onions, Squash, Swedes

2nd National hedgehog day – Make a hedgehog house, they are good for eating pests and for the wider ecosystem

3rd Lid for coffee and gravy granules can be used on tins of beans/soup

4th Residual heat cooking - turn off the cooker and hob a bit earlier and let the built up eat finish the job

5th National shower with a friend day – Every minute you spend in a power shower uses up to 17 litres of water.  Keep showers sort and low flow 

6th Cigarette buts - Make sure they are disposed of properly, they contain plastic and chemicals damaging to the environment

7th Swap soap dispensers for bars 

8th Cut the plastic clips off the end of damaged clothes hangers for sealing food bags

9th Loofah sponge instead of plastic sponges

10th Pressure cooker to save cooking energy, time and money

11th Reduce business travel with video and conference calls

12th Valentines Day - Don't buy cards with glitter or plastic, chocolate with palm oil or flowers from a different country

13th Water butt for reusing rainwater

14th International book giving day, give a secondhand book to someone who will like it

15th Shampoo bar instead of plastic bottle

16th Conditioner video - refill old bottles by turning the conditioner bar to a solution

17th Recycled bedding - buy bedding made from plastic bottles

18th Banana bread with over ripe bananas 

19th Cancel junk mail 

20th Travel soap – gym, overnight bag instead of shower gel, shampoo etc.

21st Check energy efficiency of electrical items before purchase   

22nd Guppy Bag for washing clothes and stopping microplastics escaping             

23rd Tea bags contain plastic, opt for a metal tea bag and loose leaf tea

24th  Donate unneeded clothes 

25th Pancake day. Lemon peel in the microwave for 30 seconds and then clean the microwave and oven top

26th Bathroom sponge alternative - loofah, konjac sponge, bamboo flannel

27th) Carry refill water bottle

28th Old bedding to animal shelters

29th Use recyclable wrapping paper
