The key to reducing your food waste is planning. Planning meals before doing your food shop can help prevent overbuying and also ensure you use all of the food you have bought. Getting into this routine might be difficult at first, but it can be really beneficial to your daily life, ensuring you have nutritious meals for every meal of the day.

Packed lunches are a good way of reducing your food waste as instead of buying a meal deal every day, you will be eating the food in your fridge (also a plastic-free and cheaper option)! Making a big batch of something at the beginning of the week is an easy way to prep for the week's lunches. Whether it be a pasta dish, salad or soup, it will mean you can grab a portion and dash to work without a second thought! Or, eat your leftovers for lunch instead of leaving them in the fridge and forgetting about them. You might surprise yourself by the creative ways you end up using your leftover ingredients and discover new dishes you would otherwise never have tried!

Keep your food covered with reusable sandwich bags while on the go. They will help keep your food fresh and undamaged whilst out and about, and can be either wiped clean or machine washed for your next day out.
